Norfolk Southern Railroad has 15 openings for conductor trainees. The positions start at about $500 a week. There is opportunity to advance to a full conductor, which pays much more.


5/7/08: PC Support Network Administrator

Kensington Valley Systems in Farmington Hills is looking for a PC Support Network Administrator. It is a temporary, full-time position that will require you to work 40 hours a week.


5/6/08: Project Manager

Air Tech Air Conditioning of St. Clair Shores is looking for a project manager. You must be a mechanical contractor. The position offers full benefits and pays up to $75,000 a year.


5/5/08: System Analyst & Software Engineer

Cogent Integrated Business Solutions in Troy is looking for a new system analyst and a software engineer. The positions require experience with network modeling and planning.

Big Three Job Outlook

The Big Three could start hiring thousands of new workers as soon as this fall. That is the conclusion of an Ann Arbor-based research firm. It found Big Three leaders and several automotive experts believe buyouts and retirements will open up an estimated 45,000 or more jobs by the year 2016. Target wants to hire more than 3,000 recent college grads, and Walgreens could employee close to 6,000 grads this year. These are national hiring figures.
